BROOKLINE, MA – The City of Brookline is currently compiling its second Diverse and Inclusive Business Directory to highlight and celebrate Brookline’s diverse, accessible and inclusive independent business community.
Brookline’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Relations (ODICR) released its first directory of diverse and inclusive businesses in January 2022. This year, the office is incorporating community feedback to better highlight the intersectionality of business ownership.
“We hope this directory will continue to evolve and serve as a marketing and networking tool for businesses, as well as help the City of Brookline better align and develop programs and resources to meet the needs of diverse Brookline businesses,” ODICR said in a statement. statement.
Through November, the city is actively collecting a list of Brookline businesses that are accessible and/or majority-owned by people of color, women, LGBTQ+, veterans, and people with disabilities to add to the 2023 directory.
Companies included must be Brookline-based, and the updated directory will be released in January 2023.
Those interested in being listed in the directory can complete the Diverse and Inclusive Business Directory Submission Form. To learn more about the directory, ask questions, contact Caitlin Starr, MPH, CDE at [email protected] or 617-730-2345.
