GOOSE CREEK, SC — A school resource officer is out of work following allegations of an affair with a student at Stratford High School.
“On March 18, the Goose Creek Police Department was notified by the Berkeley County School District of a suspected situation involving SRO Stayton and a student at Stratford High School,” the police department said in a statement. hurry.
The department said Chief LJ Roscoe placed Officer Stayton on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
A thorough internal affairs investigation was eventually conducted and Constable Stayton was fired for violating policy on March 28, police said.
The South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement is continuing its investigation.
Police did not provide additional information about the allegations against the officer.
